About Four in a Row

Four in a Row is a classic two-player strategy game, and here your opponent is our friendly computer. Take turns dropping discs into a board of seven columns. Each disc falls to the lowest empty spot. The first player to line up four of their discs in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins the round.

You play red and the computer plays yellow. It looks a few moves ahead, but it isn’t perfect, so clever play will beat it. Every round you win adds to your win streak. A draw keeps your streak alive, but one loss ends it. You and the computer take turns going first.

How to play

  1. Press Play. You go first in round one.
  2. Tap a column (or use the arrow keys) to drop a red disc into it.
  3. The computer drops a yellow disc. Keep taking turns.
  4. Line up four to win the round and grow your streak. If the computer gets four first, the game ends.
